Pre-Raphaelites. The Modern Renaissance in Forlì

We visited the exhibition “Pre-Raphaelites: Modern Renaissance” at San Domenico Museum in Forlì, open until June 30th. It’s a must-see for the quantity and quality of the selected works.

An unmissable exhibition

Right from the entrance, the exhibition welcomes us with a grandiose setup inside the Church of San Giacomo, featuring a selection of works by great masters of the Italian Renaissance like Beato Angelico, Piero della Francesca, and Botticelli, a major source of inspiration for those young men from London, who drew the sap of salvation from the ancient.

This message of salvation never leaves us as we walk through the numerous rooms, where fluid colors, and soft designs keep us suspended between past and present, cuddling us gently. Flowers, plants, fabrics, jewels, majolica, drawings, and portraits of beautiful women follow one after the other room by room.

The colors, among gold, red, blue, and green, lead us on an all-feminine trail of gentle and profound souls, leaving an explosive fullness in the heart.
